We are pleased to announce that distinguished colleague Ass. prof. Sławomir Kalinowski, Ph.D. from Poznań University of Life Sciences · Faculty of Economics/Department of Finance and Accounting will join the conference and lead the kaynote speach.

Sławomir Kalinowski - Ph.D. Economics, is Associate Professor in Economics at the Institute of Rural and Agricultural Development (IRWiR) at the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN), heading the Department of Rural Economics; he also serves as secretary of the organization's Scientific Council. His research interests focus on the issues of poverty and standard of living in rural areas; welfare economics; income insecurity; and precariousness of rural populations. He has authored more than 140 scientific publications, including monographs “The smart villages concept. Examples from Poland” (2021), "My situation in the coronavirus period" (2020); "The standard of living of the rural population with uncertain income" (2015); and "Poverty of rural population in Wielkopolskie Voivodeship" (2007). He is Scientific co-editor of three publications: “Closer to the people - an agenda for social science?” (2018); "Marginalization and social development - between the present and the past" (2017); and "Life on the edge - on the social margins of the big city" (2014). He serves as vice president of the board of the RURall Foundation for Rural and Urban Research. Between 2009 and 2015, he was secretary of the inter-environmental Research Group "Social Margins of Poznań". He is an Expert with the Polish Society of Social Policy and member of the Poznań Society for the Advancement of Arts and Sciences. In addition, he is project manager of the National Rural Network Operation, conducting an in-depth study of smart villages in Poland.
